Security forces foil terror plan of Ginbot 7

Addis Ababa, April 25 (WIC) – A terror network and plan designed by Ginbot 7, a terrorist team formed by Dr. Berhanu Nega to wage armed struggle claiming that no options remain for peaceful struggle in the country, has been foiled by security forces.
The National Information Security Service (NISS) and the Federal Police told WIC that the terrorist team has established military and civil wings in the country spending millions of birr with the intent of forcefully dismantling the constitutional order.
The military wing of the team involves few members of the national defense force as well as former members of the defense force fired by disciplinary measures, while the civil wing embraces members working at various governmental and private institutions.
After rigorous surveillance works the NISS conducted over the secret terrorist networks for a longer period, the federal police arrested 35 suspects during the operation it carried out on Friday.
Moreover, the federal police have seized various arms, bombs, computer and satellite communication gadgets, military uniforms, documents and other evidences during the search out it conducted carrying court search warrant.
Investigations have already been launched on the suspects, the service announced, and thanked the public for the active participation the latter showed to foil the grand terrorist plan.
