ET409 – Terror suspect admits jet was bombed

March 28, 2010

The Boeing 737-8 plunged into the Mediterranean shortly after takeoff from Lebanon, killing all 92 passengers on board. Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri blamed pilot error. But one of the al-Qaida operatives held in a high-security prison in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, has told his British-trained interrogators that the aircraft was destroyed by an al-Qaida suicide bomber trained in a Yemeni training camp.

Yemen is the ancestral home of Osama bin Laden’s family. The operative said the Beirut bomber trained in the same Yemeni camp as Christmas Day underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

  1. It is my first time to read the al-Qaeda network suspects was composed of Eritreans aslo. My comment refers to the news: “Saudi Arabia detains dozens of ‘al-Qaeda militants’ “

  2. Let those ignorant Lebanese officials, who started blaming the Pilot right after the accident learn a lesson. Their rush to judgement is nothing but an indicative of the age old arrogance which they are known for against people of African decent.

  3. Did really Hezbollah cancel bording the flight although they denied that?

“Hezbollah denied on Wednesday a report in Al-Liwaa newspaper that a high-profile party delegation missed boarding the crashed Ethiopian airliner.” http://www.yalibnan.com/2010/01/27/et409-crash-hezbollah-denies-its-delegation-missed-the-flight/
