EDP concludes its meeting in London successfully

Ethiopian Democratic Party Public meeting, 21 nov 2010
November 22, 2010

Obviously, it was expected that calling a meeting in London is going to stir emotions and trigger a futile resistance to stop EDP’s high profile comeback in London. Nevertheless, it was decided that it is time that EDP starts forcefully and assert its come back in London.

Particularly, for those political groups who had been saying EDP is dead and buried; it was hard to accept this public meeting in London. But the support group decided to take campaign right in to the centre of resistance by booking the Ethiopian Community Hall in London and by inviting its dooms wishers and their supporters. Some thought that is a crazy thing to do, some even used the analogy that of Mengistu having a meeting at TPLF’s office during the conflict. EDP support group insisted in having the meeting at the Ethiopian community for good reasons.

The objectives of the meeting were two.

  • First, to break a self imposed delusion of some political groups who thought they own and control London. That message could only be hammered in to their head by calling a meeting in London and asserting our views and beliefs.
  • Second, objective was more gentle, which is to present EDP’s political case for Londoners and listen for their views and suggestions.

Atu Lidetu Ayalew

Ato Lidetu Ayalew, president of Ethiopian Democratic Party

To make sure that everyone is aware thousands of fliers, emails, phone calls and text were sent to Londoners that the support group can reach. This includes the political parties like G7 and UDJ’s support groups.

As expected, this created shock as if the ghost of a political party that was declared dead and buried come back to haunt them.  Immediately following this announcement a group lead by Ato Abebe Tolosa, President of UDJ’- Europe and Ato Andargachew Tsege’s group started to campaign to stop the meeting in full force.  Soon it became clear that it is an impossible task to force Londoners boycott the meeting. When that was not working, some openly said it is on their dead body that EDP would have its meeting in London, particularly at Ethiopian Community in London. The tactic they used was to send public threat to beat, to kill, to kidnap and to chase EDP’s leader Ato Lidetu Ayalew and the support group and members.

They realised that that task was too ambitious when the power of balance was revealed at the meeting hall. Shouting was the safest choice left at their disposal.

This laud mouth approach and threat in fact made, EDP’s supporters to double their effort and continued with planned meeting. Every precaution was made so that the young and intelligent EDP supporters not to be caught wrestling with those without hops and dead end politicians and pick a criminal record that would destroy their career and future prospect. Even after all this precaution made one of the G7 supported clamed to have been assaulted to file a criminal charge hoping to criminalise one of the EDP supporter. Fortunately, it was fabricated.

We are living in a democratic country where the rule of law is respected. We know that they have rights to protest. So every possible precaution was taken to make sure that their plans do not exceed their usual hysterical shout, laud slogans, the usual Yleyal-Zendro tribal dance, while taking a video of themselves for their YouTube collection.

To be honest, EDP’s support group risk assessment was accurate to the last dot. As expected, they came; they shouted Leba, Banda, hodam, danced in circle in the meeting hall, till they were told they have done their usual 30 minute rituals and leave the meeting hall in peace.

As expected Ato Abebe Tolosa had many slogans, throw shouts, sang a song as duo with Ato Andargachew Tseges’ brother, Ato.  Bizuneh Tsege, danced in circle saying, Yeleyal Zendro, took video clips till peacefully escorted out by British Police and two private security guards out of the hall.

It was comical, amazingly stupid and a self deprecating act. But that is what make them fulfilled in their life. Wwe took no offence.

Once they left, the meeting continued in peace till 6:30 pm discussing various issues.

EDP support group fully realised that there are many frustrated Ethiopians either with their own personal life or as a result of political adventure.. We know that they foolishly set a target that they cannot possibly commit themselves or have the physical or intellectual joie de vivre to execute it

We know it is now 3 years since the G7 leadership declare its intention to talk EPRDF in the language that it understands.

It is almost 3 years, since 500 dollar per head was collected to assist them to go and fight. It is almost 3 years, since messages were sent to warn what will happen to EDP supporters when the G7 heroic liberation army capture the capital. It was prophesied that the traitors, the hodams, the bandas had no option but to kneel down, light a candle at St. Marry’s church and pray for forgiveness from G7 wrath.

Those all fantasies did not come true.  To begin with, one has to commit himself to a cause to face his enemy. Second, one need to pay a personal scarifies to achieve higher goals. Arm struggle is not a dance in circle. There is no beer, free medical care for age related alignment or the welfare state to relay on as fall back. It is a question to fight or die.

light refreshement

Light refreshement was served during the meeting

One need to be prepared to die to a cause that he is prepared to bring about. Regrettably, that determination is hard to come by. The feeling of inadequacy and impotence is hard to bear and this sense of failure has to be defuse on someone if life to become bearable.  Eric Hoffer, an American philosopher wrote: “In running away from ourselves we either fall on our neighbour’s shoulder or fly at his throat”.

Further, he argues that “The lesser justified a man is in claiming excellence for his own self, the more ready is he to claim all excellence for his nation, religion, his race or his holy causes”

What else can explain the righteous indignation, a self-congratulation chanting and shouting you will see on the video clip below.
That may explain a reason behind today’s bizarre, G7 and UDJ supporters cry out of frustration. It is tragic to see our fellow citizens’ holy cause is turned in to be ritualistic chants between meals.

The audience and EDP were saddened at the same time entertained before having a fruitful discussion with the audience on many of controversial and relevant issues.

Now EDP has won its battle to capture London. The battle of the will of power  has been concluded. Nothing is as satisfying as flying our flags in London and break the will of the self imposed delusion of some.

EDP is here to stay. As they say, “Yechnekew Yewta”

  1. Here is uncut version of the so called G7 military operation with backing of UDJ’s leader in Europe. This was before they G7 commander-in-chief and his followers were removed and the meeting started after the audiences were allowed to return. If you do not them, the lead singer is UDJ’s chairman of Europe Ato Abebe Tolosa. The backing vocals was played by the brother of Ato Andargachew Tege, Bizuneh Tege, the rest with the big beer bellies are the true believers of Dr. Berhanu’s party, and would be the future ministers, ambassadors, army generals. Enjoy the show and try to guess their collective IQ.

    Meet your future leaders

The two and half hours recording of the full meeting will be loaded soon. Now ready for good laugh, wonder which tail of the bells curve we seeing.

    Regards,

    Yared

  2. Aye G7, it turned out to be a party of hollogans. How come a person living in Europe dance Yeleyal Zendro at the public meeting. It is shameful and moronic.

  3. Yared I assume you are the one who is taping the protesters.
I read your post with interest. You talk a great deal about democracy, surely you must know that to protest is an integral part of the democratic culture. You live in the UK i assume. You must have seen the UK govt spending a greal deal of money on police time to ensure ppl can excercise their right to protest and yes sometimes it turns violent. They are people who take a very different view from the leader you support, incidentally he is a man with dubious record. After they registered their protest they should have been asked to leave the hall, period.
However to heap all this venom and nonsense on stilts, against these people, some of who i know is rather depresssing from a well read man like you.
I noticed with chagrin and with a degree of irony that you were videotaping the protesters. You see some people will read your action as as an act of intimidation.

If you are a real democrat you should be tolerant of dissent and some pppl who have suffered a great deal from the crimes committed by the regime you seem to be implicitly supporting, will be forgiven if they are emotional an fortright when expressing their views.

No one doubts your intellect but i don’t think you will have a great career in spinning for the ambience of the meeting and the number of participants in the meeting cannot by any standard be described as sucessful. I know this because i heard a first hand account of what happened at the meeting

All I say to you, although i fundamentally disagree with your support to a man such as Lidetu,(i will refrain from expressing my view on him), i respect your right to support Lidetu but surely you must at least empathise with those who are deeply frustrated by the appalling human rights violations committed by this regime with the tacit support of parties such as EDP.
Incidentally all this third way spouting by Lidetu is poppycock and you know it for you are an intelligent man.

Your support for Lidetu should not blind you to the fact people are bitterly angry about what your leader has done and when you are alone i implore you to reflect on that and understand why they explode sometime.
    your respectfully

  4. I don’t think this disruptive and unruly behaviour is good for the image of Ginbot 7 and any party for that matter. I don’t know how they can convince me that they are better than the dictatorial regime of the current rulers, for instance in respecting freedom of speech.
More over, it hurts me so much to hear the name of the racist Abebe Tolosa as the head of UDJP-Europe. This was the guy who was saying publicly “send the Tigres to where they came from” and yet he preaches about Ethiopian unity.

  5. Thank you for video clips. It is reveling. I never thought I would see such idiotic dance in the 21st as an expression freedom of speech. The sooner political parties get rid of these morons is the better for their success. No wander people are put of by politics.

  6. I am not sure if UDJP oficials in Addis Ababa are comfortable with the likes of Abebe Tolosa and others who represent both UDJP and Ginbot 7 and some of them the Eritrea based EPPF.

  7. well you have it the “Hulegeb tigil” of G7.The radical dispora’s dead end frustration is at it’s climax. The honorable
lidetu ayalew was the master mind behind the success of the then Kinijit.when they purged his it was the begining of the end of Kinijit as we know it.The inept leadership of kinijit was the precursor for the total demise of the opposition in the last election.Again it seems lessons unlearned..unless and otherwise UDJ and the other domestic opposition stay away from the bigoted fringe elements in the diaspora;I dont see any light at the end of the tunnel for them.It is disturbing to know the leader of these holigans is no other than the self appointed leader of G7..Birhanu Nega.God save Ethiopia !

  8. Andargachew and Birhanu can only do this no more. They are poor in ideas. IO woder do they UDJ and G7 have only 20 supporters . I thouight they are many kkkkkkk. They exåpose themselves who they are . EDP showed itsmaturity as usual.Learn from smart young EDP supporters in London. Bravo EDP Londeon. Keep on we are with you.

  9. Birhanu leba ketafi new wushetu siletegaletebet yemiyizew yemichebitew tefa. Birhanu knows that he can´t win in ideas so his way out is just to shout.Shout like a dog.ignorat idiots

  10. Birhanu eyago leba feri shintam.Wore lela sira lela.We know you can pay for 20 people to shout against Lidetu for this year but believe me not next year.kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  11. What wild and un educated Ethiopians gathered under G7 and UDJ in london. SHAME They could ask what wrong things he did instead of shouting with no reason. shame on Birhanu and

  12. Wild leader has wild supporters
Ewnetu siwatabachew Birhanuna G 7 abedu- Gena abdachu cherkacchun titlalachu. Lidetu has the truth and he is a winner

  13. It shows how backward G7 and UDJ areä Why they act like this may be they have tangeble ideas to forward . The easiest way they find is shouting. They seserve to launch hulegeb kkkkkkkkkkkk GO TO JUNGLE NOT IN LONDON
WILD ANIMALS ARE BETTER THAN YOU

  14. Is Abebe Tolessa representative of UDJ and G7 shame so Woyane has right to accuse UDJ too.Godd to know such wild people who are hope and valuless. Abebe Tolessa there will be time to ask you what you are doing . Better if you go to school

  15. This only shows, these guys are totally useless. It is shame that they have destroyed the image we all held about G7. If G7 is a collection of militia, we despair. We have no hope at all. I despair.

  16. disrupting a meeting is what woyane is doing, we want heroes who can stop the violation of association, meeting. we have enough dictators. pls go and stop woyane from denying this right. what the londons did is not acceptable.

  17. To G7 and UDJ supporters
Plese don´t forget that you are fighting dictators and you have to show that you are better than them.
    Plese

If you can come up with ideas and facts and challenge Lidetu if he said some thing that is not true or you think is not right not just shouting. It does´t show your maturity

  19. “Long live Ethiopia”?Which Ethiopia is that they wished to live long?the one which they are playing a vital role in disintegrating her?And they are claiming that they are ‘fighting’to bring democracy and justice to the people of Ethiopia. Is this the lesson that everyone should learn how democrat they are? They also claim that the current regim is tribalist and racist. But it seems that they are accusing it because the government fails to be more racist than what they do.
    God save us

  20. Lidetu verbally lambasted Dr Birhanu in his recent interview with AendEthiopia. Those close to Birhanu and Andargachew say that it was a damaging interview which seriously affect the financial postion of G7. A large number of G7 supporters have began questioning the integrity of Dr Birhanu.

Any way, instruction was channeled from g7 to Andargachew to do everything possible to retaliate and his brother was assigned to coordinate and oversee things. According to my information the G7 representatives here are very disappointed by the leak of information which resulted the readiness of the strong team of EDP supporters for any possible disruption.

Intially guards removed the infamous Abebe Tolosa, the head of UDJ-Europe and activist of G7, from the hall. The EDP supporters gave a second chance to Abebe and the rest of his comrades to sit down, be calm and challange Mr Lidetu. But it didn’t work. Police took them less than 2 minutes to remove the hooligans from the hall. After that the meeting resumed.

One problem I observed was shortage of time. The organizers should have extended the time till 8pm. Finally home made bread and tea was served to the participants. I would like to thank them for that. Even some of the police had the test of our cultural bread.
    Thank you

  21. depressing to watch, how an earth people choose to reduce themselves to that low is mind boggling. Goshu one one of the main actors is officially known for being a disillusioned retard but what saddens me most is to see people like Gizen, a relatively better educating person humiliate himself with bunch of opportunist attention seekers…if they were smart enough they could have taken advantage of a civilized debate and ask questions they want answers for, if ever they have any question. but the truth is, these people i know them too well, they don’t even know what they want. they just hate for the sake of it. politics is kind of funfair for them, where they can meat and gossip…they don’t even realize that they are being used by some foreign infiltrators whose interest is to see a disintegrated and weak Ethiopia.

  22. Abebe Tolossa it is good to challenge Ledetus idea in a civilized way instead of shouting there like animal this is unacceptable, i give respect to Ledetu than the shouters i am sure by this act Dr Berhanu is ashamed you have to show chewanet for the people of ethiopia we wants to see something better

  23. This idiots are they G7 members? i don’t think so, Dr Berhanu u have to teach them how to challenge the idea for your members they act like mad.

  24. This message is to Kibebew, I appreciate you for expressing your feeling in this beautiful democratic manner.
First of all the basic need for communication is the ability of speaking and listening. If some one is speaking nicely but not listening others, it doesn’t make any sense. The same is true for good listener but not pointing out the vital and important messages to the target group is not helping the communication. Over 95% of my observation since “Mircha 97” or election 2005, most of the people are encouraging and intensively using the first, which is talking (shouting) but not listening. This creates a great gap and unhealthy communication among the society.
I have never come across with a single person or media (professional journalist) ask to find out the truth and the right information from the right source, instead I do observe people are interested on rumours and gossips, listening one side of the story (most probably very good lie) and advocate the lie before verifying to any other source or without having any valid evidence.
Based on your information from the comment you made above, you are one of the victims of this type of unhealthy communication. Avery intellectual person like you should be reliable on facts and valid evidences. Have you ever attempt to know the aims, objectives, as well as the political programs of EDP and what strategies the EDP officials using to performing the realistic political activities there, on the actual land? Using your intellectual independent mind have you ever observed what challenges the EDP officials are facing and what relations and differences have EDP with other political parties including the ruling party as a society product? I can grant you that the answer is you haven’t. Instead you have been informed wrongly from the beginning and still you are engulfed with this ill fate information orchestrated by frustrated individuals against Lidetu.
No individual or party declared until today that Lidetu or EDP supporting EPRDF for killing innocent people. In fact, it is EDP the only party practically and sensibly challenging and struggling peacefully with its calibre to stop injustice in Ethiopia. Lidetu was fighting with idea even before the 2005 problem to stop the violence but the by-then Kinijit Executives culled (removed) or to say appropriately suspended Ato Lidetu and Ato Mushe from the group and soon after ordered irresponsible action. They had admitted this when they released by pardon. So in what capacity and measurement can Lidetu or EDP is part of this violence do you think? Can you or source of your rumour produce tangible evidence that Lidetu or EDP had involved or supported EPRDF in this regard or any other type of violence? I can tell you that the only evidence you may have is the rumour distributed to blackmailing Ato Lidetu by frustrated individuals from the by-then Kinijit higher officials. They did this for his firmed stand to the truth and to the best of the country’s future that he anticipated at that early stage of the whole process, which unfortunately ruined by the by-then kinijit officials of their lack of administration and management skills.

  25. EDP officials are very happy to take any responsibility if anyone can produce valid evidence that they made any problems to build up and bring the rule of law and true democracy to the country. I do not understand why you guys are hiding the evidence against Lidetu. When are releasing such evidence? Are you waiting until Lidetu and alliances are bringing more killings? If I were you I wouldn’t keep it but expose him to the public and international community not coming and dancing in public meetings, where true democracy is exercised. A place or event like this is good opportunity for clarification and exchange of good experience.

To mention you very little about Lidetu’s true likeness as I can see your comment, you are very far from what he is:
•Lidetu is committed, irreplaceable, unique and genuine Ethiopian, the country may get very rarely.
•He is naturally talented and professional person, who is struggling peacefully to bring the rule of law to be the highest over government and any other body on Ethiopian land.
•He is an efficient politician with a great vision to our beloved land, Ethiopia and introduced new strategy for the achievement of the rule of law and true democracy. Building up constructive process for the achievement of democracy using the third way strategy.
•He is the only one decided and stands on that decision to stop the vicious killing cycle of power transferring on the graves of others in our beloved land and he is paying the price for this idea and program.
    • He is unique person, who stands on firmly for the promises he did for our beloved country and never affected by any means of disturbance from all directions
•This is a true Ethiopian son, who has great nerve to challenge, convince and win with idea the dictatorship ruling party as well as all other opposition parties in Ethiopia
•As you well know him he is resisting the sharp edged Gig-Sow cutting machine in both sides (government and opposition including you guys) and still producing the best for the country. (Evidence mircha 2002 process and debate). The two extremists are practicing their rudimentary system using blackmailing and falsely allegation but couldn’t win him by idea as a modern politician.
•For your surprise you couldn’t get any significant weakness on this guy.

To conclude if you are really genuine Ethiopian please let us practice proper talking and win by ideas not by rumours. Let us site down and discuss, convince if not still continue another discussion with the difference as we are learning from others. Let us avoid gossips and childish characters, let us make our leaders accountable by bringing to their attention our concerns to them. Let us contribute our part for the process of building the true democracy which we are wishing to be.

The recent ill fated activity organised by few hooligans and irresponsible must be changed and transformed to modern political environment which people can discuss and understood. We can help our common struggle one small step if we communicate properly. Otherwise we never win at all.

Just to make you laugh, I like the dancing as it was a nice entertainment, which EDP support group will pay them for the future when organise similar meetings if they perform well this. Thanks,

    Abiyou

  26. It’s shame to all who tried to make a futile show to public with the monster Kihdetu who betrayed the Ethiopian people at a critical time,no one will forgive him for what he did against the Ethiopian people as an insider collaborator of TPLF,

  27. This is a message for Abiyou. I fundamentally disagree with your analysis but I respect your right to hold such view. I don’t know you and I suspect you don’t know me either. You are making erroneous assumption about my sources. You are making a straw man fallacy because you are misrepresenting my position.
What I said is very simple. The Abebe et al of this world have the right to register their protest, to be the voice for those who died in vain because of their support for Lidetu. However once Abebe and his crew registered their protest they should be asked to leave the meeting. Interrupting meeting is not uncommon in democratic countries and there is a very honourable tradition of direct action going back to the Suffragette movement in the UK. Check wikipedia and educate yourself about that movement

Why people like you who i assume consider yourself democrat are so outraged that your opponents sought to register their protest in your meeting is beyond me.

As for specious argument about Lidetu, let me tell you my source. My source is Lidetu himself. I heard him many times in parliament and in press conferences lambasting the opposition and trying to be sanguine about the horrendous crimes committed by this regime.
So i say to you my fellow citizen I was not relying on third hand account as you preposterously allege

When everyone knows that the 2010 election was stolen, he is on of the few who refused to call for re run . His treacherous acts are too many to enumerate here. I repeat I will defend your right to support him, but please do not try to pass him off as a hero for he is nothing but a naked opportunist and good luck to him.

This is a man when he after he lost the trust of his constituents in addis, run away from Addis and sought to represent a constituency in native Wollo.

Abiyou, let me agree with you on one thing. Your point about the Ethiopian media is well made. We need an independent media which should grill all parties and seek the truth. As for your point about the policies of EDP, i am not sure knowing the minutiae of their policies would advance our collective knowledge. If Lidetu with all his ties to the despotic regime could not re elect himself, what hope is there for any of his colleagues.
It is telling when I saw the video of the EDP meeting in Camden the numbers of people in attendance was very small. I wonder why that was.

All I say to you, with Lidetu you have a tainted product who betrayed the Ethiopian youth. Get rid of him and maybe EDP may be worth listening to. Please do not succumb to personality cult advanced by his cronies.

I recall the Ethiopian youth in Addis used to call him Mandela and some of them died in vain believing in him. I ask you to reflect on that.

As i told Yared H, please the fact that you support EDP should not blind to the indifference he has shown to the death and suffering of so many of our compatriots.

Lastly Lidetu’s silence was deafening when it came to joining the movement to release Birtukan. So please spare me the platitude about him.

    So long my Ethiopian Brother
    Yours respectfully

  28. Thanks Kibebew, this is really good, which you remind me the true Ethiopian tradition of respect each other and discuss the point. The meeting was organised for every Ethiopian to discuss and to give a chance for groups like the one it came. They didn’t use that fantastic chance. Even after the terrible disturbance they made still we beg them to settle, but they didn’t accept except reacting recklessly. If you were there i am sure you would be one of the maddest people against them. That was just simply a lost society. By the way this group was campaigning one full week to reveres the meeting and no wonder why there was no much turnout. If you have time visit EDP’s website how the people all over Ethiopia were supporting EDP during the 2010 election campaign.
When it comes to Ato Lidetu’s case there is a big misunderstanding and perception. Ato Lidetu is not a politician who promotes the strategy of making the public happy only for one week or the longest two weeks by choosing the speech which the people want to hear but he is the politician who fights for the people to honour fundamental change by identifying the core root of the problem and find the appropriate solution. This strategy may be new for the society and may face strong resistance. Leave alone a developing country like Ethiopia, even the well developed countries resist for innovations. But Lidetu and his colleagues had anticipated this and find it simple. Just wait and see.
With regard to the opposition parties, i have followed almost all the last 10 to 15 years but i didn’t see any which brought a small change using the strategy they are following. Change is needed for the better outcome. That is why EDP assessed its past activities and took appropriate action. Just to remind you if you have forgotten the opposition parties strategy is producing the zero sum So far. Can you name for me any political party which has strong hold for the struggle necesary to our country. If there is any please let me know as i am willing to learn. But to my knowledge EDP’s dissociation from other current oppositions is vital and in my opinion EDP condemns them only when they attack it for their failure. Please follow carefully at least for the future when and how EDP is treating other parties or individuals. It is very busy party which doesn’t have time for arguments but it defends and protects itself from anything sensibly and accordingly in a very civilised way.
If you are not happy with its press releases and other extras still you can address your points in a civilised way so that you will get the right response and proper clarification if they don’t then that is the time of EDP’s failure and then i will be with you to condemn the party. But no one has raise issues like this except generalising.
With regard to the election 2010, If you followed the EDP’s press release regarding this it identified 31 problems and addressed it officially that the election was not fair and free but there is no other way forward except accepting it. Until today no other party listed the problems but generally barking. What did others achieve? I think there is more to learn to understand how sophisticate the struggle is? I will explain about Birtukan and other issues you raised may be tomorrow or later. At the mean time please do your more comments as you are always welcomed to me and my colleagues. Peace!
    Abiyou

  29. Shame on G7 and UDJ supporters in London. Now I know why Woyane is staying in power with its evil work, because those oppositions are like a child and their brain will not developed even after spenting long time in WOYANE prison.
DR.BIRHANU and ANDARGACHEW please grow up be truthful to the people put your power to fight the woyane not EDP or LIDETU.we know Lidetu is a victim and he is nething to do with KINIJIT is failler ,it is DR. Birhanu who did all the damage to kinijit and the Ethiopian people.
CONGRATULATION EDPIAN in London you challenge the Evil in Europe as you did for woyanes back home.
    Long live EDP and LIDETU[[

  30. Shame on G7 and UDJ in Europe, please know the enemy and fight EPRDF. Lidetu is the only politician at this time in Ethiopia who can challenge EPRDF politicaly. not Dr. Birhanu who robbed $500.00 dollar from Naive Ethiopians and Iam one of them, but I will not give any money for any one even for Lidetu’s EDP which i think they are better than other oppositions

  31. Dear Kibebew and others, let me say few things on your last comment which I didn’t adreessed to you. One of the point is youngsters died or killed for the cause Lidetu’s commitment shown before but this is not true! Infact he is paying the price for his commitment shown before and after, he was the onlyone to stop that outrageous act and to find better solutions, unfortunately no body helpd him even at the end they susspended him. Simply becaus he didn’t want to lie the public like others. He was and now is struggling for you and me, for each of us, it is our duty to stand at one point and realise what is goingon! If you rememberd there were two major killing events. The firstone was in june 2005, when he was arrested in his office for four days, after that 12 government security were chasing him for y months and the next was in November the same year, when after kinijit suspended him. So where and how did he involved for this killing? This is where our jounalists should work properly and should let to know the natoon the truth. Infact after five years of accusation and then silence some of the then actors are live witnessing themselves recently: pro Mesfin and Dr Yacob.
Regarding Birtukan, EDP is working hard to secure the rule of law for the nation when it can. If there was a need for genuen support, EDP would be the first party to take the cause firther but what was noticed was for trash political capital. Birtukan by herself can be a witness. But the diaspora and the rest of the goup what you call your heros did ruined her excellent political skills and ambitions. I do not know which achievement for the country or for birtukan did you refer others involved and EDP kept silent.
In genral most of us in the diaspora: have big confusions about the capacity and strength of peaceful struggle even we do not understand what it is and what sacrifications it need; we totally desociated from the facts what exactly is going on in our land; how much we distroying the struggle and helping EPRDF indirectly; we do not know what our tasks to support the parties or the nation in general (please lear what EDP suport in UK did recently to international liberal democrat) more will continue
