Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Hamdi Sanad Loza headed on Wednesday January 15 to the Eritrean capital Asmara to meet with the Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki and the Eritrean Foreign Minister.

The Official Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry stated that this visit comes within the framework of the distinguished bilateral relations between the governments and peoples of Egypt and sister state Eritrea, bilateral coordination and consultation with regard to regional relations and the situation in the Horn of Africa, as well as the means of strengthening bilateral relations, as Eritrea is one of the Nile Basin countries to which the Egyptian foreign policy dedicates special attention.

The spokesman added that Loza and the accompanying delegation will hold consultations with the Eritrean Foreign Minister on issues of mutual interest, topped by regional security, Red Sea security, and the situation in Somalia, further to the Nile River issues.
