Hundreds protest for release of musician jailed in Ethiopia

Hundreds of Ethiopians from around the Washington DC area gathered to demonstrate against the imprisonment of famous singer Teddy Afro.

The demonstration was prepared by various Ethiopian media and community organizations in the United States and it took place near and in front of the Ethiopian Embassy. Protestors demanded the release of the singer who was sentenced to six-years in jail by the court two weeks ago. Teddy (real name Tewodros Kasahune) was convicted for allegedly running over a homeless man by his car and for fleeing from the scene of the accident. –More–
